Dahanu a perfect getaway retreat on
weekends & all week through. Dahanu is a tranquil seaside town in Thane
district (Maharashtra). The once barren Dahanu has thrived over the years
under Iranis (Parsis) settlers, who have grown fruit orchards of chikoo &
coconut trees through out the zone turning into a veritable green belt.
It is barely 120 km. from Borivali (Mumbai) and it is easily accessible by
rail and road. The National highway No.8 has made driving down to Dahanu a
sheer pleasure of about 2 hours.
In Dahanu one can lie down on the quiet beach for hours and soak in the sun
for hours, or go on 17 km. scenic drive to Bordi
through green farms on one side and the ocean on the other.
You can even visit the famous Mahalakshmi Cave Temples
situated atop a mountain.
